Financial Services Authority
We believe the Halifax website tells you all you need to know to make an informed decision about taking out one of our products. If you'd like more general information, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) may be able to help.
The FSA is the UK's financial watchdog set up by the government to regulate financial services and protect your rights. As an independent organisation, they are completely impartial and will not try to sell you anything.
The FSA's Financial Healthcheck and Budget Calculator are available on our website alongside other useful tools. Click here for more information.
The FSA provides a range of online tools, free consumer booklets and factsheets along with a Consumer Helpline. You can visit their website or call 0845 606 1234* or minicom/textphone 0845 730 0104*. From overseas call 020 7066 1000 (main switchboard). Opening hours are between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
*Calls to 0845 numbers from BT landlines will cost a maximum of 4p per minute plus a 6p call set-up fee. The price of calls from other telephone companies will vary. The call price is correct as at January 2008.
