Hearing impaired
We are always willing to help by writing things down and are equally happy to receive written instructions. In addition, the following services are available:
- Typetalk - the RNID telephone relay service is used extensively throughout Halifax branches so that we can share a two way conversation with you
- Textphones are used in key areas of our branches to enable on-screen customer communication to take place.
The following businesses have individual textphones for your convenience:
| Halifax Contact Centres | 08457 323 436 |
| Halifax Personal Loans | 0845 603 1393 |
| Halifax Share Dealing Limited | 0845 604 2543 |
| Private Banking | 08457 626 993 |
| Halifax General Insurance | 08456 00 07 75 |
- Induction loops are available in some branches. They can be used with the T-setting on hearing aids to enhance sound. We hope to extend this service in the future.
- A selection of Halifax staff are British Sign Language trained and we can also arrange an interpreter, free of charge. Just ask your local branch for details.
Calls to 0845 numbers from BT landlines will cost a maximum of 4p per minute.
The price of calls from other telephone companies will vary. The call price is correct at January 2007.
