Topping up your Stakeholder Pension Plan
Your Stakeholder Pension Plan allows you to build up a sum of money in a tax-efficient way for the future. Topping up your pension plan is easy and the Government will contribute £20 for every £80 you invest in your plan, up to certain limits. This should help to achieve the lifestyle you want in years to come.
Currently, if you’re a higher rate taxpayer - you will benefit from even more tax relief, at an extra 20% that you can claim back through your tax return. A Stakeholder Pension Plan is a stock market based investment, so the value can go up or down and is not guaranteed so you may get back less than you invested. Please remember tax rules may change in the future.
Topping up your Stakeholder Pension Plan is straightforward and only takes a few minutes to complete.
You can choose to:
- Increase your existing regular payment
- Set up a new Direct Debit
- Make a lump sum payment at any time over the telephone or online
You can also manage your account online
- Check your contributions
- See your plan's ongoing total
- Amend your contributions
Please note that top ups received after 12 noon (unit valuation point) will receive the following day's unit prices.
