Helping with the costs

It's becoming increasingly difficult to get on the property ladder.

It's simple to work out how much you can borrow - you can work out roughly how much you can borrow using our simple mortgage calculator To get a more accurate indication, involving a credit score (to assess the suitability of your application), you can complete an online Mortgage Promise.

If you can't borrow enough we could still help - we understand how difficult it is to get on the property ladder for the first time, so take a look at our tips to affording the house you want.

We just ask for a 3% deposit - for properties valued at £250,000 or less - that's just 3% of the price of the home you want so you can buy sooner.

We calculate interest on a daily basis - some lenders calculate the interest they charge on an annual basis. We don't -  calculating on a daily basis could help save you money.

You can repay your mortgage over up to 40 years - spreading your repayments mean you can start off with lower repayments. Equally you can choose to reduce the term of your mortgage to pay it off sooner. Just bear in mind that the longer you take to repay the more interest you'll be charged.

We offer free budget advice - to help you understand the upfront costs and those costs once you've moved in to your new home. Take a look at our  budget checklist (opens as a PDF) to consider the upfront costs involved when buying a home.

All our mortgages have special features - a little flexibility in repaying your mortgage can really help. That's why, regardless of the mortgage deal you choose, we'll give you a whole host of special features .

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage
