A serious illness can be really difficult. You may be facing an injury, illness, disease, or physical condition that is having a negative impact on your quality of life and daily function. It can also impact your finances. We're here to help to offer financial support where we can.

How can we help?

Speak to our dedicated Serious Illness Support Team

Our Serious Illness Support Team offers guidance on how to reduce the impact your illness has on your finances. Sometimes we can lessen your money worries directly, such as helping with mortgage payment holidays and current account charges. We will need to take your individual circumstances into account to assess whether we can offer this level of support for you.

Our team can help if you or a loved one has a serious illness:

  • We’re here to offer practical help and support with managing your finances at every stage, from diagnosis to after treatment.
  • We can give you help and guidance with your personal banking, savings, loans, mortgages, credit cards and in some cases may be able to offer help to lessen the financial impact of a serious illness.
  • Referrals to other areas of Halifax that may be able to help.
  • Information on help available from other charities that can offer specific support about your illness.

Our specialist Serious Illness Support Team will discuss your situation with you, and go through what support is best for you. Call us free on 0800 028 2692 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
