Home Insurance Select offers you three levels of cover to choose from. You can also add Home Emergency cover to your policy.

Your excess is the amount you'll pay towards the cost of most types of claim. You can choose your own excess between £100 and £500. A higher excess means your cover will cost less, but you'll have to pay more towards a claim.
With Bronze and Silver cover, there's a different excess for subsidence and leaking water claims.

Buildings insurance covers you if something happens to your home. For example, if there's a fire, storm or flood. Whichever level of cover you choose, we'll cover up to the full rebuild cost of your home and its outbuildings. There's up to £100,000 cover for the extra cost of staying somewhere else if you need to because of a claim. We also cover the cost of changing your locks if your keys are lost or stolen.

We hope you never need to, but if you do need to claim we've made it as simple as we can. You can make a claim online any time, day or night. You can also make a claim over the phone.
Yes, buildings insurance can protect you against the cost of damage caused to your property from leaking oil or water.
This only covers damage to your home itself and its fixtures and fittings. If there is damage to the things in your home, for example a carpet is ruined, you'll need contents insurance to claim for it.
No, buildings insurance doesn't cover damage that happen slowly over time such as damp. Damp normally occurs as a result of excess moisture in your home. It is up to you to fix this issue as it could cause further structural damage.
No, if you are a tenant, your landlord is responsible for arranging buildings insurance for your home. You'll need contents insurance to protect the things you own inside your home.
No, buildings insurance doesn't cover damage caused by wear and tear. So if your boiler breaks down, you won't be covered. Home Emergency cover can protect you against paying out for emergency repairs to your boiler.
