More ways to stay money safe

  • Set up fingerprint or facial recognition on your phone and banking apps (if your phone can do this). This helps us make sure any payments are being made by you and not a fraudster.
  • Look for the 's' in the URL when shopping and paying online. It means the website uses a secure connection and will keep your personal information safe. The URL you are visiting should begin with https://.
  • Switch on mobile app notifications to stay up to date with your account activity. If you notice any payments you do not think you’ve made, please get in touch with us and we'll help.

How to freeze your card

If you’ve misplaced your Money Smart debit card but know it’s not lost or stolen, you can freeze your card using our Mobile Banking app. Quickly and easily, you can stop your card being used in shops, online and abroad. Then, once you’ve found your card, just unfreeze it.

You never know who's looking at your social media. That’s why it's important not to share pictures of your Money Smart debit card, or your banking details, online. It’s possible that the picture could be seen and used by a fraudster to spend your money.
