If you need to send a payment from a Halifax current account to Ukraine, you won’t currently pay our £9.50 fee. We’re refunding our fee for any payments made to Ukraine on and since 21st February 2022 and this will be done automatically within a few days.
For now, non sterling transaction fees won’t be charged on Halifax credit card payments, made to non-UK based charities on and since 24th February 2022.
If you're planning to support the government scheme to house Ukrainian refugees, we're supporting you by making the process as simple as possible.
You won't need to notify us if you're providing:
It's important you consider whether by providing this support you are still able to afford your household bills, pay your mortgage and it doesn’t put you in financial difficulty. You may wish to look at any government guidance issued.
If you’re welcoming Ukrainian refugees into your home as part of the UK’s ‘Homes for Ukraine’ scheme and have Halifax Home Insurance cover, you do not need to tell us about your change in circumstances. You’ll continue to be covered by your existing policy.
