Green Living offers

At Halifax, we reward customers for making sustainable choices. That’s why we like to offer something extra for customers with an energy efficient home, or making eligible energy efficient home improvements. 

Up to £2,000 cashback with Green Living Reward

Mortgage customers could claim one of these rewards:

  • £2,000 cashback for a heat pump.
  • £1,000 cashback for solar panels or a battery.
  • £500 cashback for completing other eligible improvements, including double glazing or insulation.


Do I qualify?

You’ll need to:

  • apply for a new Halifax mortgage, additional borrowing, or be switching to a new deal, after 31 July 2024
  • have a Halifax or Bank of Scotland current account at point of claim
  • complete an eligible home improvement within one year of completing your Halifax mortgage, additional borrowing, or new deal
  • upload your invoice to your Green Living journey and submit your claim.

£250 cashback for energy efficient homes

If you're buying an energy efficient-home, or if you already have an energy-efficient home and you’re switching your mortgage to us from another lender, you could earn £250 cashback.

To qualify, your home must have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) with a rating of A or B. Check your home's EPC rating.

  • Available to customers who complete on a qualifying mortgage.
  • Maximum loan to value 95%.

The offer can be withdrawn at any time. Exclusions and conditions apply.

  • Cashback will be paid on mortgage completion via your conveyancer
  • Customers must have a valid EPC showing on the EPC Register or a certificate confirming the property has an A or B performance rating
  • New Build properties currently in development will not have an initial EPC rating, in this instance customers should obtain a Predicted Energy Assessment (PEA) from the builder.
  • Excludes buy to let applications, product transfers or if you’re borrowing more on your current Halifax mortgage.
